Robotic Surgery Videos

Pankaj Kalra, MD peforms a robotic heminephrectomy and nephroureterectomy in a patient with transitional cell carcinoma involving the left moiety of a horseshoe kidney. There are numerous anomalous vessels to the kidney which are controlled. During dissection of the main renal hilum, there was an inadvertent injury to the renal vein which is managed with a laparoscopic bulldog clamp. (Note, the video is at 2x speed to accomodate length of file.)
Pankaj Kalra, MD performs a right sided robotic adrenalectomy for metastatic kidney cancer (from a large left sided kidney tumor which was removed several years ago). He had negative margins and was discharged home in 2 days.
Pankaj Kalra, MD performs a nerve sparing prostatectomy in a patient with a large prostate and enlarged median lobe. The nerves are released aggressively in this patient despite the challenging anatomy, and he was fully potent within a few months.
Pankaj Kalra, MD peforms a robotic pyeloplasty for ureteropelvic junction obstruction caused by a crossing vessel.
Pankaj Kalra, MD peforms a robotic partial nephrectomy for a mass in the right kidney. The renal artery is clamped for 20 minutes as the lesion is completely resected with cold scissors. The kidney is then reconstructed, with minimal blood loss.
