Laparoscopic Nephrectomy

Removal of the entire kidney intact through a small extraction excision for renal malignancies. The open approach is associated with traditionally more morbid incisions either through the rib cage or across the upper portion of the abdomen. Several studies have clearly shown shorter hospital stays, less post-operative pain, and less disfigurement using the minimally invasive technique, without compromise of cancer control.
